Mariel Hemingway recently premiered a new documentary about her family called “Running From Crazy,” that talks about her father’s abuse and her family’s suicidal habits. 

51-year-old Mariel believes her father, Jack, molested her two sisters, and both of her parents were also alcoholics.

Her grandfather, Ernest Hemingway (yes, the writer), was also a depressed man and a heavy drinker. He ended his own life by shooting himself in the head 52 years ago.

Ernest’s father and two siblings also killed themselves, and 15 years ago, Mariel’s sister Margaux, who was once the world’s highest-paid model, died from a drug overdose.

Her other sister, Joan, needs constant care for bipolar disease, and Mariel admitted that she has considered suicide herself.
