The Los Angeles Dodgers are having a hard time winning on the field, but superstar center fielder Matt Kemp has won the hearts of fans around the world after video of his act of kindness went viral. During the Dodgers' game against the Giants in San Francisco on Sunday, Kemp learned of a terminally ill, wheelchair-bound boy who was a huge Dodger fan and considered Kemp his favorite player. After the game, he met the boy, first signing a ball for him, then taking off his cap and jersey and giving it to the boy, and finally, untying his cleats and handing those over, too. Kemp was surprised that the video had gone viral, saying on Tuesday, "I didn't know that anybody was filming it…It's just something I felt probably would have cheered him up a little bit. Help him out a little bit. I just did it. Hopefully that made that kid's day."
Kenny Chesney gives 4 year old Jordan an autographed helmet at his concert at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia this last weekend! Too cool!
Tim McGraw will continue giving away homes to military veterans. McGraw's HomeFront program gave away 30 renovated mortgage-free homes to military families last year. McGraw will award a home to a veteran at each of the 31 stops on his tour, which began yesterday in Birmingham. McGraw says he got as much or more out of the experience last year than the veterans who got the homes. The donations are made possible in partnership with CHASE, ACM LIFTING LIVES and the non-profit OPERATION HOMEFRONT. Recently, McGRAW and CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist DIERKS BENTLEY congratulated ARMY Sergeant MATHEW PICKAR and his wife with a mortgage-free home and $10,000 for set up, all in part of the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC's (ACM) LIFTING LIVES.
Animal rights activist and ‘True Blood’ star Kristin Bauer discusses the release of a group of chimpanzees who have spent the last 30 years in cages at a medical testing facility. The chimps who were injected with the HIV virus will live the remainder of their lives in an Austrian Sanctuary with freedom to be outside.
Bauer is a long time animal rights activist and supports banning all medical experimentation on chimpanzees.
