On December 10, 2013, Zac Brown Band will release The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 on Zac's own Southern Ground Artists label via iTunes. The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 features the first studio recording of "Day for the Dead" the song which the band performed with Grohl on this year's CMAs and has since earned praise as a "knockout" (AJC), that "rocked" (Vulture) and that "showcases some instrumental adventurousness that flirts with the ominous" (OC Register). Other songs on the release include "The Muse," a song written by The Wood Brothers who are also signed to Southern Ground Artists, "All Alright" and "Let It Rain." "Dave is a musical genius," said ZBB frontman Zac Brown. "It's been amazing to play with him on stage and get to spend time working with him in the studio. We are excited for fans to hear the music we've been able to create together." The new release marks Zac Brown Band's first collection of songs recorded at the Southern Ground Studios in Nashville. In addition to the traditional Zac Brown Band lineup of Zac Brown, John Driskell Hopkins, Jimmy De Martini, Coy Bowles, Chris Fryar, Clay Cook and Daniel de los Reyes, the recordings also feature guest performances by Oteill Burbridge on bass and Grohl on drums. The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1 available exclusively on iTunes December 10, 2013.

Here's a heartwarming video just in time for the holiday. Two men find a homeless man stranded in New York after he was robbed of all his belongings. He's from the Czech Republic and doesn't speak English. So they made it their mission to help him out and send him home.
"Amazing volunteers @FoodBank4NYC thanks for all you do #sixdegrees"

An animal shelter in Philadelphia recently took in two eight-month-old pit bull brothers named Jeffrey and Jermaine, and quickly realized Jeffrey was BLIND. But he got around okay, because Jermaine has learned to act as his SEEING-EYE dog. Basically, Jeffrey walks behind Jermaine with his head resting on his back, and Jermaine just goes about his business. But when they're separated, they freak out.
So the shelter realized they had to find someone willing to adopt BOTH dogs, which is normally pretty tough, especially when one has special needs. So last week, they posted a photo of the two dogs sleeping together, with their ARMS around each other. And the photo was so touching, that in two days, Jeffrey and Jermaine's adoption page got over THREE MILLION hits . . . with people from all over the WORLD trying to adopt them.
The shelter stopped accepting applications on Tuesday, because so many people had applied. Now they're sifting through candidates to find the best match. But they want to remind people that there are a lot of OTHER dogs out there who still need a home.
