STATE SPENT $15K TO CLEAR POLITICIANS' PARKING SPACES TWO DAYS BEFORE THE REST OF THE CITY. While this happened in Boston, it is indicitive of politicians all across this country...
Taxpayers in Massachusetts will end up shoveling out at least $15,000 for an army of plows and trucks that showed up to clear the snow from state lawmakers’ parking spaces and sidewalks on Beacon Hill-- and they did it while the rest of the city was still buried from the blizzard. The Department of Conservation and Recreation said the operation involved two dump trucks, a plow and two loaders. The crew took away 35 truckloads of snow for the lawmakers. Taxpayers will end up paying the snow crew about $15,450 for the snow removal. Those same taxpayers aren’t happy about that, especially, since the special treatment given to politicians came two days before their streets were plowed. (Boston Herald)
