I am from the Golden State of California. Lots of folks think that California isn't a "Country music kind of State". This is not the case, especially in my family. My Dad used to listen to Alabama and Willie Nelson while my Mom was more of a Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers kinda gal. This of course put me somewhere between them...loving Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. I began my career in Radio in the year 2000 working at a Top 40 station called KYSR in Los Angeles. I moved around California for a few years as most Disc Jockey's do. This allowed me to meet my future Husband-to-Be, Randy. It also allowed me to get back into Country Radio! :)
I moved to Nashville a few years ago to explore my love of Country Music. I had a blast while I was there! I hosted a show at The Historic Ryman Auditorium...
I met two of my idols in Country Music: Dwight Yoakam and Merle Haggard...
And I discovered that Country Stars are just regular 'ole people like you and me. Most of them very sweet too!
I just got engaged to the most wonderful man I have ever known! He is from Charleston, so we decided to move back home, get married and raise a family in the best town in America! (Okay, so I am excited to live here) We are getiing married in November of this year so I will be planning like a mad woman in the next few months. Keep checking back for all the details...
One thing I know for sure...Randy and I will be doing some kind of dance like the one you see below. Check it out!
/> I have two cats whom I love a lot, infact they are like my kids. I call them Frankie and Howzers. These felines aren't treated as such, infact they are treated just like babies. They get to sleep wherever they please, even though that most often means on my head or on my feet. I haven't quite figured out how I can incorporate them into my wedding. Think they'd handle walking down the ailse to deliver the rings? Probably not eh?

In a July 1776 letter to his wife, Abigail, John Adams wrote of American independence in terms that would prove prophetic: “It ought to be solemnized with ... Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
Americans still heed his words. According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, some 225 million pounds of fireworks are blown up in honor of Independence Day, from driveways to city parks to the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show in New York City. Some 40,000 high-altitude mortars (that’s more than 1300 every minute) make it the country’s biggest display for The Fourth.
Illuminations — and then some. Old-fashioned Roman candles and ladyfingers have given way to complex multi-break shells with more than a dozen effects in a single firework; setting them off is now a $900 million industry. Today’s shows feature high-tech choreography and split-second timing. You can be sure that the rockets’ red glare will burst precisely when those words are sung during the Star-Spangled Banner.
“It’s an art form,” says Dr. John Steinberg, second vice president of the Pyrotechnics Guild International, an organization of amateur and professional fireworks enthusiasts. “You tour the Louvre or the Guggenheim, and you go, ‘Oh my God, how did they do that?’ The same is true of a good fireworks show.”

TIPS FOR ROAD TRIPS WITH THE KIDS
Are We There Yet? Traveling with kids is always a challenge for parents. I found some tips to make that 4th of July weekend road trip a smooth ride ...
Research in Advance Plan your route ahead of time to identify parks or attractions that could be fun for kids. And stay way from the same old chain restaurants. Check out roadfood.com for a list of unique restaurants along the way.
Leave Early or Late When taking off on a long road trip, leave in the evening or early in the morning. Not only will you avoid traffic, but, with any luck, the kids will be tired and take a nap.
Make Regular Stops The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a stop about every two hours to give you and your kids a break.
Pack Activities Make sure you've got lots of games, activity books, and craft kits to keep the kids occupied -- and, hey, there's always the portable DVD player.
Make a Scrapbook Have your kids collect mementoes like ticket stubs, menus, and postcards along the way and put them in a scrapbook -- it'll preserve memories ... and keep them busy.
Enjoy the Journey Like they say, the fun is not in the destination, but in the journey -- so enjoy your time on the road.

SUGARLAND has revealed fall concert dates for their Love on the Inside tour, launching September 13th. The new live show features plenty of special effects, including a few that could be hazardous to the duo's health. KRISTIAN BUSH says, quote, "We're trying to do all of our own stunts from here on out." KELLIE PICKLER and ASHTON SHEPHERD will be in the opening slots on most dates. Sugarland's new album, also titled Love on the Inside, hits stores on July 22nd.
Alan Jackson would be proud! In his video for "Good Time" he had high hopes to create the world's largest line dance...now we can add to the fun! Tim's Fan speaks out...
Friday 06-27-2008 2:33pm ET
A man claiming to be the fan Marcus that Tim McGraw threw out of his concert in Auburn, Washington is speaking out. He called into a Seattle country station to explain his side of the story. According to him, he was working his way up to the front of the stage when people started shoving him. In the process, his hat was hit off of his head. He bent over to get it, and when he stood up Tim was pointing at him. Not realizing what was going on, Marcus thought Tim was inviting him up on stage to sing. He goes on to say even when he got on stage he was still thinking to himself “Wow, I’m on stage with Tim McGraw.” It wasn’t until he saw Tim pull back his fist that he realized something was wrong. No charges were pressed against Marcus and he says the only damage he suffered was being three hours late to work the next day.
