A minimal fee is charged for adopting animals that covers their health examination when the arrive at the shelter, their spay or neuter, and their first shots. 

***All animals must be spayed or neutered before they are allowed to leave the JASPCA.***

"ASPCA Mission: Orange" Comes to Charleston, SC
Mission Orange is a collaborative effort to create a "humane society" by curbing the needless euthanasia of adoptable pets.

A check for $600,000 presented to participating animal welfare agencies: Charleston Animal Society, Pet Helpers, and Humane Net.

The ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is striving toward a save rate of 75% for unwanted and abandoned animals entering shelters.
