- Cooking spray – Cooking spray, per serving, has almost no calories. But most people don't use only "one serving" when they spray. Instead, they blast the pan, coating it heavily, which loads up the calories.
- Diet sodas – Diet sodas might seem harmless, but the artificial sweeteners trick your body into thinking carbohydrates are coming in, which sends insulin into the bloodstream, slowing fat burning.
- Coffee – Drinking too much coffee can mess up your sleep patterns, keeping you hungry during the day. Coffee also causes your body to release stress hormones, causing you to be tired and reach for food for energy. (Fox News)
